The subject of Islamic studies was taught at inter and degree level as compulsory and elective since the beginning of inter classes in 1959 and graduation classes in 1969 respectively in Govt. Graduate College Gojra. The college established the Department of Islamic Studies in 2014 by launching MA Islamic Studies, 2 year degree program in affiliation with University of the Punjab. The program successfully continued and students were enrolled till 2020. In 2021, in accordance with HEC policy, the Department of Islamic Studies has initiated its BS Islamic Studies Program in affiliation with GCUF. Subsequently, the 2 year degree program is abrogated. The Department of Islamic Studies has rich regular faculty with two Doctors and one foreign Graduate. The results achieved by the students in the previous year are a vivid example of dedication and teamwork of both staff and students.
